Welfare Recruitment Solutions have been approached by a leading welfare organisation that supports vulnerable people across Victoria, to assist in the recruitment of a number of Practitioners (and potentially Senior Practitioners), to work in their program that supports children and families who are experiencing complex issues, including family violence and child protection risks. Role
Working predominately from a hub your role will mainly be phone based, some walk-in’s, with home visits being rare. You will be using a child focused lens, working with families (sometimes including perpetrators) who are presenting with domestic violence concerns. Your role will involve intake, triage and assessment with the primary aim on the best interests of children and young people at all times. This is not a case management role and you will hold a caseload. This is a fast paced role where you will screen & triage, assess risk, prepare appropriate crisis responses and interventions, as well as connect and refer clients to services within a short period of time.
Candidate
- Degree qualifications (or working towards a degree) in social work or related field.
- Experience in a child protection/family preservation type role.
- Understanding of the drivers/causes of family violence and child & family vulnerability.
- Knowledge of relevant theoretical practice frameworks including child development, trauma and attachment.
