ROLE

Initially you will be part of a joint venture operation in the community, where your role will be focused primarily on representing Aboriginal staff in the program. You will provide supervision and mentorship, whilst making sure the workplace is culturally safe, as well as being a liaison between stakeholders. There is scope for the role to grow and expand into other programs that can further support Aboriginal people.

The Role
  
You understand that dementia care is a person-centred approach presenting complex and unique challenges and through your strong experience and knowledge in dementia you will provide assessment services in line with best practice care.

Through this knowledge you will provide a face to face assessment service with persons living with dementia and their families in identifying factors that might be contributing to concerning cognitive behavioural changes.

The Candidate

To be considered for this position you will need to demonstrate:

  • Prior assessment experience either in a senior nursing, occupational therapy, speech pathology, or physiotherapy role within aged care working very closely with persons living with dementia.  You may be working in residential care, be community based, working for government health service or in an acute setting, GEM Unit/Older Persons Mental Health where you have been involved in assessing BPSD.  Alternatively, you might be working as an ACAT Assessor or as a Senior Diversional Therapist where you have gained strong knowledge and experience across different dementia diagnoses and understanding of the complex needs of dementia care.
  • Additional dementia behavioural management training or currently studying/completed Post Grad qualifications in Dementia Care/Gerontology/Ageing will be highly regarded.

Welfare Recruitment Solutions have partnered with a very well respected NFP Organisation that support vulnerable children and families across Australia to assist in the recruitment of a HR Administrator on a temporary basis initially for 2 months working 4 or 5 days/week. The role could be based out of any of a number of Melbourne offices and also working from home.
 
Role
This position is responsible for assisting the HR team with onboarding of candidates, collating documentation, organising police checks, issuing contracts, advertising positions, monitoring their HR Inbox and any other duties as required.
