Role
In this role you will use your experience working with vulnerable children, young people and families to carry out necessary assessments of individual, family and community issues. You will use appropriate methods of intervention and provide provide comprehensive case management support to children, families and carers in foster care placements.  You will also help keep children connected to culture and where appropriate maintain a relationship with birth families.

 

Requirements
  • Degree qualification in social work, psychology or relevant community welfare fields.
  • Previous case management experience in a child protection/family support setting. 
  • Skills in assessment of child protection, family and community dynamics
  • Preparedness to travel in 4WD vehicles or light planes, as required, and ability to undertake travel including overnight stays as necessary.

Based in Darwin this role covers a large part of the northern part of the Territory including the Tiwi Islands, West Arnhem and Daly Regions. You’ll be expected to drive across country and fly in light aircrafts to get to the communities you’re working with.

In this role you will provide professional leadership and support to front line practitioners to assist them in developing their practice, develop a culture of practice excellence and a contribute to continuous improvement. You will support practitioners both in the field and in office based training, conduct case reviews and identify themes that will contribute towards continuous improvement.  

 

Requirements
  • Degree qualification in social work, psychology or relevant community welfare fields.
  • Sound knowledge of child protection standards, (NT specific is desirable but by no means essential) 
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and an ability to review complex information and develop evidence based recommendations 
  • Preparedness to travel in 4WD vehicles or light planes, as required, and ability to undertake travel including overnight stays as necessary.

The Role:
As the successful candidate your role will be to oversee Integrated Family Services and Kinship Care. You will directly manage two team leaders and a wider team of about 10 practitioners. You will ensure quality, viability, innovation and growth across the services and professional practice.
